⚽ AYSO Region 138 – Coaches Background Check & Training

Coaches are required to have an up-to-date Sterling Volunteers Background Check and complete their Training each season so they are cleared to coach.

Steps to Complete Your Background Check

1. Log in to our region's website: www.ayso138.org
2. Click on My Account (top right), then select the Volunteer tab on the left.
3. If Risk Status shows empty or expired, check the box and click Renew & Update. Do not start a new background check if the expiration date is in the future.
4. Confirm your information (use your full legal name) and submit.
5. Within an hour you should receive an email from [email protected] titled "Your AYSO Background Check is Incomplete - Please submit now."
6. Click the link in the email and follow the instructions.

If you do not receive the Sterling Volunteers email, check your spam/junk folder. For help, call 855-326-1860 (Option 3) or email [email protected].

Steps to Complete Your Required Training

1. Log in to www.ayso138.org, click My Account, then go to the Volunteer tab.
2. Identify training items with Status = None (ignore "Fingerprinting CA Only").
3. Click on AYSOU in the left menu.
4. In AYSOU, click Training Library.
5. Open the Safe Haven card and complete any missing courses:

• CDC Concussion Awareness - Online
• Sudden Cardiac Arrest - Online
• AYSO's Safe Haven
• SafeSport

For Your Coaching License

1. In Training Library, open the Coaches card (do not use Coach Instructor or CEU cards).
2. Enroll under the division you'll be coaching. For courses with an In-Person component, please complete the Online portion as soon as possible. I'm working on scheduling a time to host the In-Person Course (12U).

• 6U Coach - Full Online Course
• 8U Coach - Full Online Course
• If coaching 10U, please register for the 12U course as we only host the 12U In-Person Course in Brigham City.
• 12U Coach - Online + In-Person Course
• If planning on registering for the 14U or 16U+ courses, please do not enroll in this course in AYSOU yet. Instead, please reply to this email requesting more information: 14U Intermediate Coach - Online + In-Person Course, 16U-19U Advanced Coach - Online + In-Person Course
