Who We Are

AYSO Region 138 is a family-friendly, small-town soccer program focused on having fun and building community through soccer. Players from outside Box Elder County are always welcome — we have families coming from as far north as Malad and as far south as Pleasant View.

What is AYSO CORE?

Our Core (Grassroots/Rec) program is the heart of AYSO soccer in our community. It’s where kids of all skill levels come to learn, grow, and have fun in a safe, positive, and age-appropriate environment. Every practice and game is designed around our Six Philosophies, which guide everything we do:

Everyone Plays – Every player is guaranteed to play at least half of every game.
Balanced Teams – We form balanced teams each season to keep competition fair and fun.
Open Registration – Any child can join, no tryouts and no cuts.
Positive Coaching – Our volunteer coaches focus on encouragement, effort, and growth.
Good Sportsmanship – We teach players, coaches, and parents to respect the game and each other.
Player Development – Our goal is to help every player improve their skills, confidence, and love for soccer.

AYSO Core is where lifelong friendships start, players fall in love with the game, and families become part of a supportive community.

Fall Season Dates

Practices begin the week of September 8

Games run Saturday, September 13 through Saturday, October 25

No games during Fall Break

How We Schedule

We build our season around our community and families.

We avoid conflicts with major local events, school schedules, and holidays.

We start after Labor Day and Peach Days, when the weather cools down.

Our final schedule will be posted once field assignments are confirmed by the city

Game Days and Times

Saturday games are scheduled between 9:00 am and 2:30 pm

Weeknight games are scheduled between 5:30 pm and 8:30 pm

No weeknight games for Schoolyard or Playground

6U plays at 5:30 pm on weeknights

Location

Games and most practices are held at the Brigham City Sports Complex.

Practice times and locations are at the coach’s discretion.

Registration Fees:

First Child:

Fall or Spring Season: $73.50*
Fall and Spring Season: $93.50*

Each Additional Child in Same Order:

Fall or Spring Season: $55.00*
Fall and Spring Season: $75.00*

Please note that you will see the Fees separated in the system and the fees may be charged separately on your card.

Region 18 Registration Fee (Division Price): This is the fee paid direct to our local Region to cover fields, equipment, and other costs.

AYSO Membership Fee: The Membership Fee of $25 is charged as a separate line item and transaction. It is a non-refundable annual fee that goes directly to AYSO National. It covers the upcoming Membership Year (MY25 is July 2025-June 2026). If your child plays again in the Spring, they will not need to pay the membership fee again for that season.

Sports Connect Service Fee: There is a $3.50 per transaction fee that will be applied at the end of the order. This fee is applied per transaction (per order). It is NOT applied per player. If you have multiple players and register them at the same time you will only be charged one service fee. If you have multiple players and register them at different times, in different transactions, you will pay this fee on each separate transaction. This fee goes directly to Sports Connect and is also non-refundable.

*The registration fee includes the above mentioned non-refundable Annual National AYSO Membership Fee of $25 per player and a $3.50 service fee per order (not per player). It also includes a non-volunteer fee of $15 which is waived if you volunteer.

Player Equipment:

Jerseys

Reversible and reusable from season to season

Pick a size with enough room for a light hoodie or jacket on cold mornings or evenings

Equipment and Costs

All equipment is sold at wholesale cost to help keep prices down

Shin guards and socks are available but not required to be purchased from us

Cleats are recommended but not required — athletic shoes are fine as long as they’re safe for soccer

Youth Jersey: $20
Adult Jersey: $22.50
Shin Guards: $9
Socks: $5

Purchasing and Pickup

Equipment can be purchased in person at pickup via cash, check, or Venmo for the same at-cost rate as online

We know sizing can be tricky with online orders, so we’re happy to swap at pickup for the right size on jerseys, shin guards, or socks

If you still have equipment from last season (due to order delays), please come grab it. If these times don't work, reach out and we'll coordinate.

Divisions and Formats:

Playground (ages 3-4) and Schoolyard (ages 4-5)

One-hour session on Saturdays

No weekday practices

Six total sessions

Eight-game season — six Saturday games and two weeknight games

Saturday sessions begin with a 20-minute team practice followed by the game

Eight-game season — six Saturday games and two weeknight games

One weekday practice each week (45–60 minutes)

10U

Eight-game season — six Saturday games and two weeknight games

One weekday practice each week (about 60 minutes)

12U

Eight-game season — six Saturday games and two weeknight games

One weekday practice each week (60–90 minutes)

13U Transition

Not a separate division — this is a placeholder for 12-year-olds deciding between 12U Coed and Jr. High/High School.

After registration closes, we’ll confirm your choice and transfer your player to that division.

Newer players often stay in 12U; experienced players usually move up.

JH/JS Coed

Eight-game season — six Saturday games and two weeknight games

One to two weekday practices each week (60–90 minutes)

Weeknight Games

Target dates: September 30, October 2, October 7, and October 9

Each team plays two total weeknight games, never more than one in a week

Make-Up Games

If weather cancels a game, we use the next open Tuesday or Thursday

Why This Format Works

About six weeks from first practice to last game

Fewer cancellations, better field conditions, higher attendance

Most leagues now run six or seven games — we run eight for 6U and up so kids get more playing time and touches without higher costs

Weeknight games add a fun, no-extra-cost, family-friendly night out
