AYSO Six Philosophies: Open Registration

Hello again! The last time I posted I said I wanted to highlight each one of AYSO philosophies. Since we are on the final day of early bird registration, let's start with Open Registration. Why is Open Registration a "philosophy"? I'm glad you asked! AYSO was designed to ensure all kids who want to play soccer have a safe place to learn the game and have fun (it is a game after all). That's the basis of our Core program. Kids of all experience levels can come play the game and know they will get to play (another philosophy we'll get to later). I have had the pleasure of coaching several kids that turned into talented soccer players that may have never showed up to a tryout. Watching their confidence grow in things other than soccer has probably been the most rewarding. Providing opportunity is a philosophy I can believe in!!
